Scar

If someone asked you, what’s a scar? You might say it’s something that does mar The dictionary says in summary It’s a mark left by an injury

In the place where a wound used to be That is now where a scar you will see And although they’re created quick Forever with you they’re sure to stick

They could well serve to bring to your mind Things that happened that were not so kind And when they are fresh up on your skin They could stand for wars you didn’t win

You may well wish that they’d go away But by definition they will stay So used to them you really must get Or else you’ll be burdened with regret

And scars are not always physical They can often be emotional Again they will leave on you their mark A sad mem’ry or a broken heart

But the dictionary revealed That they’re there when the wound has been healed So although they’ve come from something bad Praise God you’ve recovered, and be glad!
