In many-a recipe book There’s loads of things I like to cook For example one recipe Shows how to make shortcrust pastry

One vital thing that I’ve been told Is that your hands need to be cold First measure out fat from the tub Then into that some flour you rub

Once crumbled, water on it pour If it won’t stick then add some more It needs to form into a ball And do make sure you have it all

Next take to it a rolling pin But do ensure it’s not too thin Then cut it to fit tin or case Where it will cook to make a base

Now it’s your pleasure to decide What filling in it will reside It could savoury or sweet Whatever is your special treat!
