Growing from Seed
There are things you need to know
If strong plants you want to grow
Especially when sown from seed
You have to meet every need
To start growing in this way Find yourself a good seed tray Then the next part of the toil Is to fill it up with soil
Into that tray then can go What you have chosen to sow And once it has got its fill Put it on a windowsill
There it should be nice and warm So your plants can start to form It may seem quite slow at first Until through the soil they burst
Carefully water them each day Not too much, a gentle spray And it’s important to not Let the seedlings get too hot
It may take quite some time Before those plants start to climb But eventually they will Which can bring quite a thrill
Next see whether you have got A suitable bigger pot Into which you them can move So that soon they will improve
At least, that is a good plan But takes a courageous man To move them from the warm house Out into a cold greenhouse
And some may be garden bound Planted direct in the ground But if the frost has not passed Those young plants may not long last
Other troubles may prevail In the form of slug or snail Or it may be that your cat One day on your plant is sat
I will not tell you a lie Plants may live or they may die So it is a nervous time Will these plants all grow up fine?
