Since Last March

Since March last year so much has changed Our whole lives have been rearranged The government tried to control What impact on body and soul?

Then, my parents were both quite well In the same care home they did dwell Then I’d never broken a bone Nor been forced to work home alone

But soon home working was the norm And new routines we had to form Then the sad day – fell off my bike Found out what broken bones are like!

I was unable to visit Or with mum and dad simply sit Their bodies were so worn and tired That their lives suddenly expired

Now that restrictions have been eased To see family people are pleased But for me it’s come way too late As my parents just could not wait

So what has been the highest cost Of all the things that we have lost? What has given the greatest pain Knowing so much we won’t regain?!
