I made a large cake Put it on a plate That was yesterday It’s not there now

Sitting in that chair Our times we would share Sadly old friends They’re not there now

To the office I went Eight hours a day spent With my colleagues They’re not there now

We went there to eat And with our friends meet But that restaurant It’s not there now

Upon its door mat Or on the fence sat There once was a cat It’s not there now

Where I used to play Wile my day away The children’s playground It’s not there now

The years have gone by Since we used to buy Goods from Woolworths It’s not there now

There water did flow Barges with cargo In the canal’s heyday It’s not there now

It once stood so tall Before its downfall What became of the wall? It’s not there now

The terrace’s scaffold Which did seem to hold It up for decades It’s not there now

The trailer’s not gone But something is wrong Where is the boat? It’s not there now

Outside of a flat For years that bike sat Then its people moved It’s not there now

We used to go ride To the countryside Between fields of green They’re not there now

Racks for your bike Benches you’d like Then they did a refurb They’re not there now

I always did know Where that route did go But since the roadworks It’s not there now

We used to go round But now we have found That the roundabout It’s not there now

I look down the street It is incomplete I can’t recall What’s not there now?
