After the long Summer break

It seems so long since we last met To study and to pray But now, at last, we fin’lly get To meet again, today

So let us take a little time To ponder and to think Whilst I continue in my rhyme And you may have a drink

Oft times it seems that we are glad When certain things do last But sometimes we become quite sad Till certain things have passed

For some the summer brought great rest For others more work days But surely we have all been blessed In many diff’rent ways

The weather here wasn’t the best It wasn’t very hot But it shouldn’t dampen the zest For life that we’ve all got

The countryside that’s all around Comes to us tot’lly free And some new places we’ll have found Special spaces to be

And then there’s family and friends The people that we love Relationships as God intends And one with him above

And so it is that summer’s gone But memories are left Of all the many things you’ve done So please don’t feel bereft
