Seasonal Carpets

In Spring the ground’s carpet is many shades Strewn with all the budding flowers Crocuses, primroses and more Welcoming the warmer weather

In Summer the ground’s carpet is dirty grey Strewn with much dust and dried mud When we have had a long hot spell And the river bed is bone dry

In Autumn the ground’s carpet is brown and crisp Strewn with all the fallen leaves Until it gets rainy and then It’s covered with a muddy mulch

In Winter the ground’s carpet is white and cold Strewn with frost and ice patches And possibly even snowflakes… Glistening and twinkling in the light
