A Year On

Almost a whole year now has gone We never thought that it would last We never thought it would go on This long – thought it would now have passed

It will soon be we reach a year So much has happened in that time Yet people are still wracked with fear And old freedoms are now a crime

It’s not a time to celebrate The many things that we have missed Nor is it a time to berate Others – from this we should desist

This year has been sad and long And found by many to be tough Everything seems to have gone wrong People have had more than enough

But where have we gone to for hope? To try to make of it some sense And who is it helps us to cope? When life becomes so very tense

Our heavenly Father knows and cares For us – through all the passing hours These times with us He always shares His grace and love on us He showers
