The Five-Minute Job
I thought it wouldn’t take me long Oh, how could I have been so wrong The task looked so simple at first But soon I came to fear the worst
I really must learn not to say That this should not take me all day For often happens once I start That more bits then just fall apart
Or oft before I can begin I have to do another thing To try to make sufficient space So everything can have a place
And in order to do step one Preparatory work must be done And then between steps two and three Many more jobs I can foresee
So if I’m told a job is quick I will suspect that it’s a trick And when preparing for each chore Allow double time, and some more
