So many words have two meanings, or more! e.g. how do people know what you mean? Are you average, or stingy, or defining things?

If your work’s outstanding Does that mean it’s great Or only half done?

When you talk about content Do you mean what’s in something Or that you are fulfilled?

If you barge past Are you afloat Or just plain rude?

And if you say something’s dear Is it a term of affection Or do you mean it’s expensive?

Someone may run A race Or a business

You spoke with your voice Whilst your bike has spokes But doesn’t talk!

And what is a charge? The cost of something Its energy or a military advance?

The list could go on…

And then there’s words that sound alike… So come over here And hear what I say!

For if you make a scene Is that just so You can be seen?

Bore boar Brake break Great grate

Aloud allowed Flour flower Profit prophet

Shoe choux shoo So sow sew They’re their there…

Oh words have such amazing power Just remember those four candles Or was it fork handles…
