What was it that I came here for?
If you are of a certain age Then I would probably wager That you’ve said many times before ‘What was it that I came here for?’
Some say that it helps to retrace Your steps, and go back to the place Where you were before you forgot What it was you nearly got!
Yes I would happ’ly place a bet That there is much that you forget From names of people seldom seen To places that you once have been
It becomes harder to recall So many things both large and small And sometimes you may have to ask What was to be my next planned task?
For as you ‘mature’ / grow old It has often to me been told That your brain continues to shrink Which makes it much harder to think!
