Day Out

As we got ready to go outPhoto of Riverside Park Railway, Southampton Suddenly we gave a loud shout For it had just started to rain Now isn’t that such a real pain!

But we headed off undeterred To cycle faster, rain us spurred It made the start a little sad Because many warm days we’d had

So where would we go to explorePhoto of Riverside Park, Southampton - including black swans And what did this day hold in store? First port of call was Southampton With a small railway to ride on

Then onward to the New Forest English countryside at its best Travelling by both train and bike ‘twas far too far for us to hike

Arriving at Moors Valley ParkPhoto of train at Moors Valley, New Forest From our bikes we did disembark Ate ice cream and rode on their train Then back on our bikes once again

So our missions were now complete We won’t let the rain us defeat In fact, for a lot of the day The rain had kindly stayed away

We had enjoyed having a roamPhoto of St Peter and St Paul Church, Ringwood viewed from Castleman Trailway But it’s always good to go home Where we can happ’ly reminisce About the things that we now miss!
