The Ginger and White Cat

I suddenly looked And there was a cat It rubbed on one door And then another ‘twas ginger and white

Long-haired and fluffy It wanted a stroke You could tell - it purred But as I approached It was quite timid

Shied away from me Then overcame fear To let me stroke it But not for that long As soon it was gone

Next day at breakfast Through patio doors I espied that cat As quick as I could I tried to unlock

But to no avail For I was too slow And it was too scared I looked out once more And there it was gone!
