The Friendly Cat
On the pavement, as we passed by
Were some apples, give them a try
The sign on them said, naught to pay
Just pick some up, go on your way
But on the ground next to that There was a very friendly cat Surely he’s not giv’n away But by his house he didn’t stay
Wandered off but not too far He hid under the neighbour’s car Before heading to their front door Begging ‘Let me in’ with his paw
