South Wales

The forecast said there would be rain So we are sitting on the train To Wales we are taking a ride As we’ll stay dry if we’re inside

And, so far, I need to report We only saw rain at Newport ‘twas little more than the odd dot And certainly it wasn’t a whole lot

Right now the sun is shining in Casting shadows on where we’ve been The cows and sheep sit in the warm They’ve not got jobs they must perform

As we journey further westbound The wind turbines are going round On the industrial landscape That did this countryside so shape

Sadly, I had spoken too soon For it was that just after noon As we walked out our lunch to get It became increasingly wet

Phil decided that he would try Some local fayre - a Swansea pie And, of course, we also did take Home with, more than one Welsh cake

Then we returned to our train seat For our lunch we wanted to eat So we proceeded to travel east Whilst tucking into our small feast

The clouds loomed thick and dark and grey Surely more rain is due I’d say Thus it was as we headed home Concluding then our little roam
