The Urban Fox
In the shadows, in the dark
Silhouetted near the park
This is where we saw him sat
Having a scratch, like a cat
Yes, to us, he seemed feline Rather than like a canine We stopped quite still and looked on Amazed that he hadn’t gone
Then towards us he did creep
Tho’ his distance still did keep
Darted around, like a game
He wasn’t wild, but quite tame
For quite some time we stayed there At each other we did stare D’you think he wanted to say ‘Please come here and have a play’
Maybe he wanted a friend For, sadly, humans do tend To recommend, advise That these creatures we despise
