2021...
I’m guessing that it must be time To write an end of year rhyme To give a taste of what we’ve done Since the calendar year begun
Sadly, as you may well know This year started on quite a low As dad so suddenly took sick And passed away extremely quick
He was cremated just like mum But fewer people did then come As we were back in a lockdown You couldn’t even go to town
We prayed to God that he’d sustain As we did all at home remain Phil’s birthday was a quiet affair As with others we could not share
The days dragged on into long weeks Everyone normality seeks By Easter we could meet outside But of much warmth we were denied
Gradu’lly restrictions were eased People were so happy and pleased We took the chance of odd days out Just glad we could now get about
In June we lodged in Stowmarket Travelled lots, made the most of it A very pleasant place to stay And great to fin’lly get away
But sadness followed our return Our cat was lost, a great concern He was then found, but he’d not ate He was so thin, it was too late
The summer now was in full swing Some days were hot… others raining Work continued to plod along Whilst some of our crops went all wrong!
In August went away again Up to Carlisle travelled by train Then in September to Yorkshire Our last adventure for this year
As ’21 draws to its end Seasons’ greetings to you we send How was the year, just gone, for you? And what your hopes of ’22?
We pray that you will know God’s peace That His great love will never cease Full of the hope that Jesus chose To come, to die, and then arose
