What we spied

When we’re out taking a ride These are some things we have spied Many a lost sock, or two And sometimes even a shoe

‘tis often after bin day Rubbish strewn on the highway Broken bottles, a drinks can Even an old frying pan

A doll’s head covered in dirt And is that a worn-out shirt? Shopping trolleys in the hedge A cat balanced on a ledge

Sometimes there’s mess and muddle Paw prints from muddy puddle An old ticket or a book A crazy squirrel, just look

That hot air balloon’s up high With buzzards, kites in the sky Egrets, herons but no stork Alpacas taking a walk

Ducks waddling in the car park Dogs going for walks, who bark On the ground, squashed chewing gum And small children with their mum

A horse pulling an old cart And some odd-looking spare part A dropped knife or fork or spoon Occasion’ly there’s the moon

Passed a car with rain on it – A cat licking the bonnet Mattresses, sofas and more Traffic lights pop up galore

Or we might find a penny But seldom very many And was that a frog or toad Sadly splatted in the road?

Someone’s left keys in their door… Oh, I could think of lots more! But I’m sure it has come time To put an end to this rhyme
