Give us a Brake!

At Trentham we hoped to ride And the train was sat outside But though it should leave at 10 They were still charging it then They said come back in an hour Hopef’ly then it will have power

But no journey could it make For it had a broken brake They were not prepared to say If they’d repair it that day So we went off in a huff To find another train – chuff!

Apedale Valley Light Railway Was just two bus rides away Their train was running on time So we travelled on their line But we can’t admit defeat Back to Trentham we did fleet

A sign now said the train’s shut But on approaching their hut We saw people sat astride So we fin’ly got our ride The carriages us did take A short way beside the lake
