Hospital visiting
Because to visit you we like We came despite the train strike – For it would be quite some hike To travel all the way by bike
Now I thought I’d also write A short poem I can recite Although I am not sure quite Whether all my rhymes are right!
I’m sorry that you’re going spare Because you are still stuck there But for the moment that is where You get your essential care
What is there that I can say That might help brighten your day? Yes, what is there that I may Do to help you on your way?…
Getting all four lines to rhyme Is taking up too much time So I think I will now change How this poem I arrange!…
Maybe there’s a funny tale That I could try to regale Something I have seen or heard Ah, yes, here’s something absurd
As through Ashton Keynes we went – A place we often frequent Round a corner, next a house An adult-sized cartoon mouse
