Luke’s birthday too

For someone’s special day We went riding on the railway To Portway’s park and ride Empty spaces they did provide

Then I made the mistake Followed path Google said to take Nettles, brambles galore I’m surprised my legs aren’t more sore But there was a way through To the thing we’d wanted to do

We’d hoped a pub lunch but When we got there the door was shut So we had to change plan We got food from a burger van

Glebelands mini railway The destination of our day Twice went around the track And then we were on our way back

But as you might expect We didn’t go directly back Passed Temple Meads again To Exeter St David’s then By train to get a view Of Marsh Barton’s station brand new

Fin’lly we were heading On a train right back to Reading But there’s no buffet car Trolley came when we’d gone too far

The day brought sun and rain And so much time upon the train But soon we’ll need to head Back to Swindon and to our bed
