Holiday Hiccups!
It’s been an interesting week Where the people use foreign speak
A different sort of holiday With some things not going our way
First, we met an unwelcome sign Entrance barred to Hammersmith line
Then turns out that I cannot roam Without a contract on my phone
Hayfever tablets I forgot And I never got another lot
Google’s directions weren’t quite right There was no road surface in sight
Though our room had a bath and sink T’were no kettle to make a drink
Sunday morning one cat alone But he was hard and made of stone
Asking for a tea we did hear They only had coffee and beer
Then we were left quite in the dark How to get into Gruga Park
And we thought that we were too late As the track was behind a gate
When we then had a ticket check I picked the wrong one from the deck
We didn’t get lunch till very late Which meant that we did not feel great
To travel now there’s a big catch All the fans for each England match
Arriving late with our full load We almost had no entry code
With no instructions on the screen How d’you get cards out the machine?
A medallion machine should vend But nothing outwards did it send
I started pouring but was told The coffee in that jug is stone cold
Our train came to an abrupt halt We never learnt what was at fault
One room had a well dodgy light That flickered with all of its might
The receipt said we’d bought a tea But what we got was black coffee
We tried returning t’other way But issues kept the trains at bay
We saw no one else eating there Though we thought that it was fine fare
I managed to lose notes and plan But some’s on the phone plus mem’ry scan
The alarm woke us at wrong time Even though I’d adjusted mine
Some passengers were aghast and shocked When at Delft Campus train ne’er stopped
An ambulance trying to get through Had to cross a breathalyser queue
It’s a good job we weren’t there too long Or what other things might have gone wrong?
Oh many memories have been made From this week when in Europe we stayed
