I saw a lorry up ahead Creating quite a queue I only had a short time to think Of what I was going to do

As it happens I knew a side road So down it I did turn… But this was not a wise move I have now come to learn

I almost missed the junction Where I next needed to go Too quickly I turned my bike With obviously not enough slow

Yes, it’s the bin lorry’s fault, I swear For if it had not been there Then there would not have been the big queue That wouldn’t have made me do The things that somehow or other led To me off my bike toppled

For I turned right off my usual way And was in so much hurry That I then took the corner too tight And I couldn’t stay upright But gladly I didn’t much injure ’twas the bin lorry’s fault, sure!
