Problems on the Line
To get to Swindon from Temple Meads A London train is what one needs But as we looked all around A working one could not be found
It seemed there was a system malfunction In the vicinity of Thingley Junction The train drivers didn’t even know When their trains were likely to go
We decided there might be less delay If we went via Bristol Parkway That service arrived as expected Another fault was detected There was an issue with the loo For which an engineer soon was due
Only a few minutes later we went But unfortunately for us that meant At Parkway we’d missed our connection However, it was drawn to our attention Another train would make that extra call So we’d not have long to wait at all
But as the front of the train went past We thought that’s still going very fast And so it was that it didn’t halt Though we don’t know who was at fault
The next train wasn’t behind by far And that one was an Electrostar But we didn’t alight at Swindon We headed on toward London Trying to catch a train we’d not ridden So that was where we were bidden
