God's Word

God’s word is a gift to man All a part of His great plan Teaching us how we should live His way to love and forgive

Many things we may have heard When we’ve listened to God’s word Many things from it we’ve learned When we’ve prayed and we’ve discerned

We’re fed by it every day So we can follow God’s way Helping us see right from wrong Proving we to Him belong

In it His words of wisdom And stories of His kingdom Tales of prophets, priests and kings Births, lives, deaths, so many things

Hist’ry, poetry and the laws Which showed up the people’s flaws Books of joy, sorrow, lament Make up the old testament

Then comes Jesus – born and grew Family life like us he knew Shared with friends, and even cried As for us He lived and died

He was God’s word in flesh That by Him we might be blessed
