Things Aren't Always

Things aren’t always what they seem They don’t turn out like our dream Often things feel really tough And we feel we’ve had enough

Things aren’t always as we hope And we may struggle to cope Or possibly we lose heart As things start to fall apart

In what should we put our trust? Not in power, nor things that rust Such things are all by man made And, with time, they all will fade

But on God we can rely He will all our needs supply He is our foundation rock The good shepherd of His flock

To Him nothing’s a surprise We are foolish, He is wise He can see our way ahead But we must choose to be led

Unto Him let’s draw near Even when things are unclear Trust in Him to be our guide In His loving arms abide
