Holy Week
Inspired by [The Gospels](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2021&version=NIV)
This is Holy Week With God we can speak So we don’t forget Jesus our needs met
‘Twas on Palm Sunday Leaves paved Jesus’ way Riding a donkey All wanted to see
As Jesus rode out ‘Praise Him’, some did shout Others, ‘Who is this?’ His purpose they miss
Later with His friends Some time Jesus spends Mary wipes His feet With perfume that’s neat
He talks about the light Going out of sight They don’t understand What God has got planned
Shares one final meal His death to reveal As He makes them clean What can this act mean?
Jesus went away He needed to pray With His Father spoke Then His friends awoke
Betrayed with a kiss Jesus foretold this Though the great I am He went like a lamb
Much to his surprise Peter Him denies No one else remains Jesus put in chains
His trial was unfair But men did not care Yet it was God’s plan Save the heart of man
Led away to die On a cross up high Oh, such a great cost From His Father ‘lost’
Yes, suffered such loss Dying on that cross For me and for you Curtain torn in two
Yet that’s not the end For God did intend That Jesus He’d raise After those three days
Ending Satan’s power In that Holy hour And ending all strife With eternal life
